Update
Monday, August 21st, 2006Hmm…where to start…
Girlfriend
Brianna. I’ve known her for about 6 years, and have had feelings for her for a good portion of those years (as she has for me). I finally came clean with myself (and with her), and the 18th was our one month anniversary. It’s something I should’ve done a long long time ago. I couldn’t be happier. It’s like we were meant for each other…*daydreams* I’ll save you from the mushy stuff.
Apartment
I’ve been living in Oakland (in the Dimond District…the good side of town.
) for a couple months now. It has it’s good points and its bad points. For the most part, I like it here. Jump in the car and roam around Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, and/or San Francisco. I really like how close The City is. It’s $3 (for toll across the Bay Bridge) and 10 minutes of driving. The only downside is that I’m at least a half our from a friend and/or family member. I’m still pondering moving to the South Bay…but it depends on a number of things I won’t worry about until at least January.
Work
I finally started work on Wednesday. It’s been really good so far. Everybody is really laid back and very friendly. I am scheduled to work at 5 elementary schools (one a day). From what I’ve been told, it’ll be very easy. The cool thing is, they gave me a 12 inch PowerBook as my workstation. I have a 17 inch LCD, keyboard, and mouse at my desk for when I’m in the office…and I can cart my laptop to wherever I need it.
School
I’ve decided to give DeVry University’s online program a try. They have a networking A.S. and B.S. degree that focuses more on what I want to do. The classes are online and are organized in 8 week chunks. To be considered full time, you take 2 classes every 8 weeks. I’ll be able to do class work anywhere I have ‘net access and not have to fight traffic trying to get to class after work.
Car
I spent my last $100 on the T-Bird. The T-Bird is 10 years old and isn’t getting any newer…and will need more work as time progresses. It’s not that I mind the work, I enjoy working on cars, I just don’t have the time and/or space any more. Plus, I’ve been wanting a car with 4 doors and that is more fuel efficient. So I gave my dad the T-Bird and bought a silver 2004 Acura TSX with Navigation. I absolutely love that car. It gets 30+ MPG on the highway, 20+ MPG in the city, can get up and go when you want it to, has a kick-ass navigation system, has a kick-ass sounding stereo, and a WARRANTY. You should come check it out some time.
Hmm…that does mean I’ll need to change the picture above.
