Macworld SF Pictures

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

I’ve finally put up those pictures of Macworld that I’d been promising. I’ve been playing around with Gallery. Just got it set up a couple days ago, but so far it’s pretty neat. I do like Flickr, but I use up my 20 MB of transfer a month in 20 seconds (I have a hard time deciding on which duplicates to delete, so I usually just upload them all…and I like high res. pics). Plus, my server doesn’t do much…so hell…why not? There’s a workable iPhoto plugin for Gallery (as there is for Flickr, too), so that’s a big plus. However…this does mean that I may need to add some more hard drives to my server. Right now it’s only got two 9 GB drives…which is a bit small. SCA hard drives or money are a welcome donation. :-D

Anywho…view the pics!

Oh, and one other thing…

I could blab on and on about the Keynote…

But…

It’s all pretty much explained here:

Seems like they’re way ahead of schedule.

Gary Hoey

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

I was browsing the iTunes Music Store for the song “Low Rider” by War. Apparently a lot of people have done covers on this song, and Gary Hoey happened to be one of them. Just for the heck of it, I decided to sample Gary Hoey’s rendition of Low Rider. I rather liked it. I sampled some more of his music and ended up liking it, too. I will probably be ordering a CD of his very soon.

Check these out:

Between Joe Satriani and Gary Hoey, maybe I’m a surfer at heart? I should try surfing some day.

Intel Museum, Ice Skating

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

So, we visited the New Mexico Intel Museum the day before yesterday. Not as big/exciting as I thought it would be. A few of their displays were crashing or had already crashed, and it was just…small. I took pictures with my phone (since I forgot my good digital camera), but they just don’t do the trick. I may post them. I hear the Intel Museum in Santa Clara is much much bigger/better. However, the plant itself is huge. If we had 5+ people and planned it 2 weeks in advance, we could’ve had a guided tour of the plant. That would’ve been cool.

We also went ice skating today. That was actually rather fun. I hadn’t skated in any form since 8th grade. It’s brought back all my urges to play ice hockey. If I lived near an ice rink, I would sign up for skating & hockey classes. Oh…Wilson had never skated before, so he didn’t do half bad considering the lack of experience. :-) . We’re going to skate again, tomorrow…I will get pictures with my good digital camera (the phone doesn’t cut it). It’s fun, I promise.
