Your Seduction Style: The Natural

You don’t really try to seduce people… it just seems to happen.
Fun loving and free spirited, you bring out the inner child in people.
You are spontaneous, sincere, and unpretentious – a hard combo to find!
People drop their guard around you, and find themselves falling fast.

What Random Object Represents You?

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Yep, Brittany did this one, as well. It’s a bit scary how this is kind-of true:

You are a Toenail.

(Taken from Ebaumsworld.com)

Okay, maybe you’re not THAT gross. But yes. You are a toenail. You usually get in the way of peoples’ lives and are annoying at times, but people hang out with you because you are amusing. You enjoy acting retarded in front of large crowds of people. Many may call you a dork and a loser, but the truth is that you are very intelligent, and this will be proven in the near future. You are dependent on your friends, but you are not willing to conform into society’s stereotypical mold. You may be called a loser, but at least you aren’t a nobody. Even the opposite sex finds your uniqueness attractive. You stand out, and that’s what makes you special. Even if people leave you hanging.

Most compatible with: Hoe.

What’s My Pirate Name?

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Brittany did this one, too.

My pirate name is:
Mad John Kidd

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Even though you’re not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.

Smog Check

Tuesday, April 19th, 2005

Today was pretty much boring. I got my car smogged, and of course, it passed.

Futura 775

Monday, April 18th, 2005

I bought new tires for my car this weekend. One had a nail in it, and all of them had a pretty bad flat spot due to a stupid driver last Friday. He didn’t stop at a yield, but stopped in the middle of the intersection. It made me wish I had anti-lock brakes. The tread on my tires was pretty low, anyways…so it was time for tires. Exciting, huh? I got cheap-o Pepboys brand tires. P215/70R14

Asheron’s Call 2

Monday, April 18th, 2005

I’ve decided to give Asheron’s Call 2 another try. There aren’t nearly as many players as there are in World of Warcraft, or Ultima Online. It desperately needs more players, but nonetheless is fun (at the moment). I have to admit, the graphics in the game are stunning. Give it a shot! The software is a free download, and you get 15 days to try it out.

I have a Male Human named Stanley Yelnats (I bet you can’t guess where that’s from) on the Frostfell server.

I’ve really missed having a non-mobile x86 system to work on. I found this KILLER deal, and well….bought it. I will be purchasing a KVM sometime in the future…my Mac isn’t going anywhere!!! Newegg is shipping me a new DVD+/-RW drive as a replacement…I don’t think I blogged about it, but my brand new DVD burner crapped out a few days ago. I do plan on putting my DVD+/-RW into my new Dell, swapping it out for the DVD-ROM. I also plan on upgrading the machien to XP Pro, and partitioning it so I can have a little Linux, as well. I still plan on buying a new Mac…just waiting for Tiger, now.

New WordPress Theme!!

Monday, April 11th, 2005

It took me a while to find a theme that I liked, but…here it is! This theme is coded very cleanly…very easy to tweak with. I was able to remove navigation that was at the top of the theme, along with some items in the sidebar. I’m probably going to do what Sam suggested a long time ago, and base my website on my blog. Once I finally start working on my website, again, I you’ll see the heading navigation appear.

The theme is Orange Sky by Nao.

Check out my deviantART account…I’ve posted some new pictures there.

WordPress 1.5

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

I’ve upgraded to WordPress 1.5! Now, all I need to do is find a new spiffy theme.

The admin pages don’t seem to like Safari, too much, and the default theme does not show up under Safari. :-(

Anonymous Comments Plugin

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

I’ve been having a terrible time with comment spam, and feel that the easiest way to deal with it is to force anonymous commenters to enter a random string of letters and/or numbers that are displayed but not readable by bots. I’ve posted about it on WordPress’s website here.

I may open up the users section, to allow people to create accounts for comments (if they’d like)….but I haven’t decided, yet.

I oughta just upgrade to WordPress 1.5. I hear it’s better all ’round.

Beatnik Chain

Tuesday, April 5th, 2005

It’s a little late, but I’ll do it anyways…

“When in Internet Zone mode, HTML-based emails with active content will display their content just like a web page in Internet Explorer.”

I’m at work, so the nearest textbook is “XPTC – The Windows XP Tweaking Companion”.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don’t search around and look for the “coolest” book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.

Sam did this a while ago.

Exchange Server is Down

Tuesday, April 5th, 2005

Do backup servers really work when you have one SAN connected to two servers, and the SAN breaks? No.

At work, we have two Exchange servers. A primary and a secondary. It makes perfect sense, because if one goes down, the other can take over until the other is fixed. Well, both are connected to the same SAN (Storage Area Network), and in efforts to expand the storage capacity of our Exchange server, somebody broke the interface between the SAN and the Exchange servers. So, we will be without corporate e-mail until this part arrives. I guess it’s a good idea to have backup servers on their own SAN, or have their own storage of some kind.

Mac OS X Tiger Soon

Tuesday, April 5th, 2005

It’s coming….soon! We can expect Apple’sMac OS X Tiger” operating system to be released any day now. They haven’t officially released, but according to Slashdot, Tiger has gone gold. Also, you can pre-order the OS at Amazon.com.

I have decided due to my urge to save money, that I will settle for a beefed Mac Mini once Tiger is released.

Maybe I’ll just start over

Monday, April 4th, 2005

In efforts to find the backup of the database to my blog…it’s no good. Oh well, a new start may not be such a bad idea. Look for posts here sometime in the future, now!
